New Ecclesiastical Year

The church celebrated the New Ecclesiastical year on the 14th of September and the Gospel reading on that day was from the Gospel of Luke:

"The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me To preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the broken-hearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives And recovery of sight to the blind, To set at liberty those who are oppressed; To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord."

Luke 4:18&19 NKJV

The more we commit ourselves fully to God in prayer, repentance, pure conscience and walking in His light; the more we experience His loving kindness and grace throughout the days of this new coming year.

I recite this poem that is called

The Gate of the Year

By Minnie Louise Haskins

And I said to the man who stood at the gate of the year:

"Give me a light, that I may tread safely into the unknown!"

And he replied:

"Go out into the darkness and put your hand into the Hand of God;

It shall be to you a light more guiding than any lamp,

And a safety more sure than any path."
