Our story

The future

The future

The future

With the blessing of His Grace Bishop Irenei, our monastic community, dedicated to the Annunciation of the Theotokos, was established in October 2024 under the Russian Orthodox Church Outside Russia (ROCOR).

Our vision is accessing the wisdom of the Church Fathers to help us navigate these very challenging times (Jeremiah 6:16).

We currently live in a rented four-bedroomed house in Oxfordshire. We converted the living room into a chapel where the priest celebrates liturgies once a month. We can only host a few faithful due to the limited space.

Our Vision

We believe that every believer has a responsibility towards their generation and therefore must be set apart and full committed to their calling. The more we deepen our spiritual lives, the more we can face the challenges of the end-times and the more we can make an impact on the people around us.

Our community has a heart to the young generation and those in need of someone to listen, to help them with a turning point or to help them cross over to the next stage.

From scripture, we know that God wants a dwelling place among his people, this is what we want from our convent. A dwelling place for the lord that heals the land as was God's original intention for the UK, a land with lots of worship places to glorify him.

The future

We are looking for a bigger place that can accommodate more nuns, have a bigger chapel to accommodate as many of the faithful as wish to attend liturgy, and welcome visitors who may wish to spend retreat times and join in our services.

Currently, we are looking at some old churches or other properties that are offered for sale to convert into a convent suitable for serving these purposes.

Your generosity is so much needed and appreciated to fulfil our vision.
