Our story
With the blessing of His Grace Bishop Irenei, our monastic community, dedicated to the Annunciation of the Holy Theotokos, was established in October 2024 under the Diocese of Great Britain and Western Europe (ROCOR).
Our vision is accessing the wisdom of the Church Fathers to help us navigate these very challenging times (Jeremiah 6:16).
We currently live in a rented four-bedroomed house in Oxfordshire, where we have converted the living room into a chapel where the priest celebrates liturgies once a month.
Our community work includes: organising youth days, visiting care homes, hospitals and people in need, receiving prayer requests and praying for people, providing lifts and helping with shopping and home tasks to those in need. Our aim is to be available whenever there is a need, to demonstrate the love of God as Christ did "...who went about doing good" (Acts 10:38).

We believe that every believer has a responsibility towards their generation and therefore must be set apart and fully committed to their calling. The more we deepen our spiritual lives, the more we can face the challenges of the end-times and the more we can make an impact on the people around us.
Our community has a heart to the young generation and those in need of someone to listen, to help them at a turning point or to help them cross over to the next stage in their lives.
From scripture, we know that God wants a dwelling place among his people and this is what we want from our convent. A dwelling place for the lord that heals the land as was God's original intention for the UK - a land with lots of places of worship to glorify Him.
The future
We are looking for a bigger property that can accommodate more nuns, as well as a bigger chapel to welcome as many of the faithful that wish to attend liturgy and visitors who would like to visit for retreats and to join in our services.
Currently, we are looking at some old churches and other properties that are offered for sale to convert into a convent suitable for serving these purposes.
